mom stink: festive holiday apparel

Some people dislike holiday music.
I love listen to the 24/7
Christmas music station on the ol' FM radio.

I have a distaste for "festive holiday apparel"
that tickles my gag reflex and often leaves me in hives.

This post was inspired, somewhere in late November,
by the woman at the gas station who was pumping her gas
and Jingle-ing" next to me.
*sigh*
(Disgust implied)

Can we call it what it is?

With that said,
her are a few for my ladies:

A "Holiday Sweater" of "Holiday Sweaters".
Double vomit in my mouth.

This seems vulgar in some twisted way?

My Mom may have owned this circa 1996?

This one looks like a death trap.

Oh NO he didn't!!!

Festive earrings and matching headdress.

Think this one is TOO much for my church Christmas party.....
just considering?

So what are some options
to enjoy the holiday celebrations
and add a little sparkle to the holidays
with out actually "jingle-ing"?

Other than shoes like "the dazzlers"
or a hot new LRD....
I would like to suggest the wonderful new world
of everyday wearable
SEQUINS.

kat eyes: burlesque

I just had my 8 year anniversary.
My hubby surprised me with this Smashbox travel case.
Stocked with goodies,
it made my day :)
Jeff is doing so much better with his gift giving.
Last year for Christmas he gave me an exercise ball,
work out DVD, and pedometer.
Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like work out paraphernalia
that is screaming, "work out you fat slob"!
I have since told my husband never to gift me anything
that I can't wear on my body.
On Valentine's Day I received an itouch.
I told you he is getting better.

O-Glow by Smashbox $26

The fantastic thing about the Smashbox travel case
is this little tube called
O-Glow.
It comes out clear,
you apply it to your cheeks,
and it adjust the color to the natural
 blush of your cheeks.
A natural flush in a tube.
I put it in my purse.
It's perfect to apply anywhere
and you don't need a brush.
Score!!!

kat walk: the dazzlers

I am a true believer that every outfit
needs something that is just a little over the top.
I am also a true believer that every girl
needs a pair of Cinderella shoes.
You know, the shiny sparkly shoes
that make your pumpkin of a mini van
look like a Bentley.
Life is too short,
so have some FUN!
I am loving this season's "It" shoe...
"The Dazzlers"
Treat them as a neutral, they can be worn with every color.
Wear them with any outfit that needs
a little sparkle (or Fairy Godmother).

The shoes above are mine and so are the feet :)
This picture is a little sneaky peeky of my family pics
that we shot last week for the ominous family Christmas card.
Those adorable little sneakers belong to Preston and Christian.
My shoes are Enzo Angiolini from Nordy's.
Here they are without the peep toe:

Enzo Angiolini $95

Badgley Mischka $200

Steve Madden $129

Joan and David $220

Badgley Mischka $200

Amber Lights

Amber Lights
was the MAC eyeshadow
I used to wake the dead
in our October's "ghost" shoot
This shoot was creepy and sexy.
I had goose bumps because I was
scared outta my mind
and because
these images are SO GOOD!
A perfect storm of model, location, vision, and talent.

My inspiration was the Rodarte collection called Bordertown
that MAC had scheduled to release this fall.
Product was pulled and never sold
but the campaign images were haunting and beautiful.

I had to give the Ghosts a try.....here is my style board:
