kat's beauty icon: fashion inspiration (Part One)

Who is your fashion inspiration?

Who do you aspire to dress like
or who inspires you to dress with
 passion and deliberation?

Here are a few of my readers responses:

"I love Coco Chanel. The simple lines, and elegance are always flawless."  Casey Dickson

Coco Chanel

 Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel
was a pioneering french fashion designer
whose modernist philosophy, menswear-inspired fashions, and pursuit of expensive simplicity made her an important figure in 20th-century fashion.  You know that its Chanel if it is black and white, tailored exquisitely, and drenched in pearls.

"Princess Di was effortless.
Jeans and a white tee shirt even looked high fashion on her.  Everything from Couture to work out was a stylish statement, that I feel, she wore with incredible confidence and supreme grace."

Princess Diana

Princess Diana's biography in fashion
is a story of Diana expressed in her style. Her looks as well as her life were the reflection of the constant work on herself and development of her personality.  She was one of the most photographed women in the world. Everything she wore, from her handbags and shoes, hats and jewelry and even jeans, was scrutinized and commented on. Her style was regal, preppy, and sophisticated.  She learned how to express herself, her needs, her views, and her wants through her own personal style, though she lived in a world where she felt her voice was irrelevant.
